A note to our community
Dear customer, I’m writing with difficult news. After several challenging years, and a funding round we were unable to close, our company has been declared bankrupt. I expect your first questions are about your subscription and whether the apps will keep working. Let me answer those directly. Will the services keep working? For now, yes. Diet Doctor and Hava are still running, and you can keep using them. But I can’t guarantee how long. A bankruptcy trustee has taken over the company and will try to sell the apps and websites to a new owner who can keep them running. If a buyer is found, you may not notice any change. If no buyer is found, the services will eventually shut down. I’ll let you know if there’s news, though I can’t promise advance warning before any shutdown. Your subscription and billingTo avoid being charged again for a service whose future is uncertain, you may cancel your subscription at any time. How you do that depends on where you signed up:– Apple App Store: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel there.– Google Play: open the Play Store app, go to Subscriptions, and cancel there.– If you signed up on our website, Hava.co or DietDoctor.com, log in there to cancel. For Diet Doctor, go to your profile and click “My membership”. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. RefundsI’m not able to promise refunds as the trustee now controls the company’s finances, and in a bankruptcy prepaid subscriptions generally cannot be refunded by the company. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you can request a refund directly from Apple or Google, who decide these on a case-by-case basis. The most reliable way to avoid further cost is to cancel. Your dataWe don’t have an automatic way to export your data. If there’s information in the app you’d like to keep, such as your weight history or notes, please save it manually while the service is still online, for example, with screenshots. Once a service shuts down, that information may not be recoverable. A small askIf you happen to know a company or person who might want to take over DietDoctor.com, Hava.co, or the apps and keep them running for users like you, I’d be grateful if you put them in touch with me. Thank you. Being trusted with people’s health is a real privilege. I’m proud of what we built over the years and grateful you were part of it. I still believe, as strongly as ever, that there are better ways to reach metabolic health and a healthy weight than counting calories. Whether through lower-carb eating or a more flexible satiety approach, focusing on food quality tends to work better over the long term. I hope you carry some of that with you, whatever happens to the apps. I hope our services continue under a new owner. If they don’t, I hope you got real value from them while they were here.  Best,Andreas EenfeldtFounder & CEODiet Doctor, Hava
